Terms of service

Last updated 19 September 2026.

The service

ogrender is an API that turns HTML and CSS you send into PNG or JPEG images. These terms apply to the website at ogrender.dev and to the API. By creating an account or using an API key you agree to them.

Your account and keys

You sign in with a link sent to your email address. You are responsible for what happens with your API keys: keep them secret, and revoke a key from the dashboard if it leaks. Requests made with your key count against your quota.

Acceptable use

You may not use ogrender to:

  • render content that is illegal, that you have no right to use, or that is designed to deceive or harm others;
  • try to get around the rendering sandbox, the network restrictions, quotas or rate limits, or probe the service's infrastructure;
  • send load that is meant to degrade the service for other customers;
  • resell raw access to the API as a competing rendering service.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first.

Plans, quotas and payment

Each plan includes a monthly number of renders and a per-minute rate limit, shown on the pricing page. Quotas reset on the 1st of each month (UTC). When you reach your quota, requests return 429 until the next month or until you upgrade. There are no overage charges.

Paid plans are sold through Polar, which acts as the merchant of record: Polar charges your payment method, issues your invoices and handles sales tax and VAT. Your purchase is also subject to Polar's terms. Subscriptions renew monthly until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the dashboard (Manage billing); your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Refunds are covered in the refund policy.

Changes to the service and prices

We may change or improve the API. We will not make a breaking change to /v1 without notice by email and on the website. Price changes apply to new subscriptions, and to existing ones only after at least 30 days' notice by email.

Availability and liability

We work to keep ogrender available and your images correct, but the service is provided as is, without an uptime guarantee. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using ogrender and cancel your subscription at any time. To have your account deleted, email support@ogrender.dev.

Law and changes to these terms

These terms are governed by Hungarian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in. We may update these terms; for material changes we will email account holders at least 14 days before they take effect.

Operator

ogrender is operated by Patrik Hudy, a private individual in Hungary.
